It would be convenient if you could put equivalent SI units, may be, in brackets for those who aren't conversant with the imperial ones!

Its ok to use garlic puree! I put the tomatoes into a pot with the diced onions, heated for 5 mins, added garlic puree and tomatoe puree, stirred in then added 2 handfulls of grated cheddar. Stirred till it was a sauce then added/mixed with the pasta in the baking dish. I then added some more grated cheese over the top then covered in grated white bread which goes golden brown and crunchy on the top! Yum!

Grill some nice sausages, slice them into little thin discs - dump them into the tomato/pasta mix before bunging it in the oven. Mmmmmm!
Perfecto !

I made the dish purely because i was bored, it took me a while because i'm a typical guy i guess lol. It looked really nice, only problem i thought was the fact that it seemed a bit heavy and fatty with all the cheese. Good recipe and tasted really nice, well done!

Help, How much garlic do I put on this???? :/
posted by marco @ 11:20AM, 1/01/10
You don't even need any garlic... The onions are enough to give flavour, if you were italian you wouldn't use both at once, try adding a couple of bay leaves to the sauce also
posted by bob/ fred @ 05:43AM, 2/05/10
Yes you dont need garlic but you can put it in
you normally need around 1 clove of garlic

Add some fresh finely chopped basil leaves and finely chopped garlic to the tomatoe sauce/puree and let it simmer for a few mins. You will notice the difference in the taste.

I would say this serves up to 4 people if you use 500g of pasta. Maybe more if they are kids or want small portions
