Banana Split #2

ingredients

serves 4
4 medium bananas
450 ml (16 fl oz) ice cream
130 g (4 1/2 oz) crushed pineapple
130 g (4 1/2 oz) crushed raspberries
125 ml (4 fl oz) Chocolate Sauce
125 ml (4 fl oz) double or whipping cream
8 Maraschino or glace cherries
50 g (2 oz) flaked or chopped nut

method

1. Cut the bananas in half lengthways and place two halves on opposite sides of each serving dish.

2. The ice cream can be any flavour you choose, and a Banana Split is all the better for having two or three flavours of ice cream.

3. Place three scoops of ice cream on each dish, between the banana halves.

4. Carefully spoon the fruit over two of the scoops of ice cream and the chocolate sauce over the remaining scoop.

5. Whisk the cream until it is stiff and pile or pipe it on top of the Banana Split. Decorate with chopped cherries and toasted or chopped nuts.
