1. Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Beat to a smooth batter with the egg, half the milk and the melted butter. Stir in the remaining milk.
2. Arrange the sausages in a small shallow baking tin and bake in the oven at 220°C (425f) mark 7 for 10 minutes.
3. Remove from oven, pour the batter over the sausages and bake for a further 30 minutes.
4. Reduce temperature to 200°C (400°f) mark 6 and bake for a further 15 - 20 minutes. Serve immediately.
