Microwave Apple Slices Poached in Cider

ingredients

serves 4
1 1/4 cup (1/2 pint) 300 ml sweet cider, or dry cider mixed with 25 g (1 oz) light muscovado sugar
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves
1 lb (450 g) eating apples
2 oz (50 g) sultanas (golden raisins) (optional)

method

1. Put cider, cinnamon and cloves into a microwave bowl.

2. Cover and cook 100% (High) 5 minutes.

3. Quarter the apples, remove the cores, then slice and add to the hot cider, with the sultanas.

4. Cover and cook 100% (High) 5 minutes.

5. Serve hot or cold.
