Baked Whole Fish

The Sharon Hotel in Herzlia also uses a similar recipe for baking a whole luna fish, a fish too large for the domestic oven but which can be baked whole in the Sharon's catering ovens and served on Saturday evening as part of a buffet.

ingredients

serves 4
4 small trout or fresh whitefish, cleaned and dressed
salt and black pepper
juice of 1/2 lemon
2 onions, sliced
1 cup sour cream

method

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. Place the fish in a greased baking dish and sprinkle with the salt, pepper, and lemon juice.

3. Top with the onion slices, then pour the sour cream over the fish.

4. Bake fish for about 30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes with the pan juices until the fish is golden brown.

5. Serve with salad and baked potatoes.
